For more than 40 years, passionate supporters have come together to advance the American Cancer Society’s vision: ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. Relay For Life celebrates survivors, honors caregivers, remembers loved ones lost, and raises funds to ensure that everyone has the chance to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Why We Relay
Relay For Life at Folsom State Prison is more than a fundraiser — it is a powerful opportunity for the men inside to come together in support of a cause that touches nearly every family: the fight against cancer.
Many incarcerated individuals have loved ones who are cancer survivors, caregivers, or have been lost to cancer. Through Relay For Life, participants are given a meaningful way to honor those stories, give back, and be part of something positive that extends far beyond the prison walls.

Survivors and Caregivers
At Relay For Life events, no one faces cancer alone. We come together every year at events around the country to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers.
Each Relay has special events and activities (many throughout the year) just for survivors and their caregivers, so they can connect with others and know there is a strong support system available to them.
